Whats the best degree to do if i want to work with children with learning difficulties?
I have decided to go back to Uni to study and would love to work with children with learning difficulties - whats the best course to take, ideally in London. Would a SEN course be a better route than doing a teaching course and then the QTS? I don't really want to train to become just a normal teacher for 3 years.
Depends on what kind of jobs working with children of learning difficulties- Speech Therapist, Education Psychologist, Connexions Intensive Personal Adviser, etc..... For a speech therapist, you would need a degree in Speed and Language Therapy. For Education Psychologist you need a Psychology degree. For a Connexions Intensive Personal Adviser, it could vary from NVQ Level 4 to a QCG postgraduate diploma.
