Can a professor with an overseas degree teach at a university in the USA?
My fiance is getting his Master's degree from a university in London (Birkbeck London University). He wants to try to seek a job in the USA after acquiring that degree. He already has a Masters and a PhD in British Literature but from Osaka university in Japan. Could he teach at a US university with a PhD from overseas or would he need to get one in the USA. Like I said, he will have a Master's from London in addition to the above degrees.
He would need to check with the universities that he is interested in working at. I don't see why not since many U.S. degree holders go overseas to teach courses. It should work both ways..Just like doctor's overseas who receive a degree end up working in the U.S. hospitals..
But like I said, different places may have different requirements and such so he will most likely need to check with them.
