What to say and how to behave in an interview?
As you know, it is very hard to get a job during these times and I have had very little luck with getting a part-time job. I'm 17, attending sixth form college and have no experience in retail. The only experince I have had is working for a tennis club where I aid a coach in teaching young children to play tennis.
A couple of days ago I finally received a phone call for a job interview at a jewellers tomorow evenning. I am very desperate to get a job, as I really need the money.
What sort of things should I say and ask in the interview? I have managed to do some research into the company to show I have interest and knowledge in their shop.
(In honesty, I have no real interest in retail or jewellery).
Going for any job you have no interest in is never a good plan. It is harder to seem enthusiastic at interview and if you are lucky enough to get the job you will not likely not be able to perform at your best which is also bad. I know many people do take job's simply for the money so my best advice is to say everything with an example. That is what interviewers want to hear. For instance I am very organised and tidy, I worked as a volunteer at the ??? charity shop where all the stock was very disorganised. I spent the first few weeks, displaying stock in a more logical order so that customers could easily find everything. Not only did I get some very kind comments from the customers but the shop manager said that the takings actually went up around 5% after my 'tidy up' .
Take a look at http://www.bestinterviewanswers.com where you will find a load of good advice as well as some specific question you may get asked. Best of luck. Just remember -examples.
