Elementary School Teaching...?
I'm thinking about becoming a elementary school teacher. I was wanting to know if this was a good job? I looked up the average yearly salary which is about 40,000. Which isen't bad considering you have 2 1/2 months off. Is it difficult to handle all the children. (I was thinking of teaching 1st,2nd, and possibly 3rd grade.)
im not doing it for the pay at all.. i love little kids....thats the reason.
I have taught both high school and elementary.
I love the elementary age and 4th graders were my favorite.
They know how to behave and yet not to old to be sassy.
I love teaching and would not trade my experiences for anything. The pay is ok and the time off is so good. Holidays, and PTO, sick leave. In our school district (Louisiana) we get paid year round...even in the summer with no school going on. Plus, we also get a bonus 13th check. Which is a full month pay check in July. We actually receive 2 full paychecks the month of July.
Being a teacher has both good and bad moments, but for me the good out weight the bad any time and all the time!
Teacher "Merit Pay" SUCKS!
