teaching research skills middle school
I want to be a teacher, the Peace Corps would be a good place to start before going to college?

Becoming a teacher has been one of my goals during many years. I know a lot of people in the Peace Corps and has degrees or are in the midst of obtaining one, but it is absolutely necessary? Than I think that this might be an opportunity to learn valuable teaching skills, not to mention the opportunity to learn about other cultures. Learning new languages is just one more sign that have volunteered in several service activities in the community, including building playgrounds. Also, I have helped to build frames for houses, shingles applied and have helped to agriculture (more on the side of animal populations, but some agricultural experience, as well). I am not currently in school, no previous schooling after high school, but I am investigating the possibility of entering the Peace Corps and the transition towards a university here in Illinois. So this would be a good way to begin my trip? And I'll be considered even without ever being a student?

I was a PCV 1971-1972. My daughter is one today. 89% of all PCV has a degree at least. The 11% who do not have a degree with 10 to 50 years of experience in a field of a host country has requested, such as agriculture or small engine repair. It sounds hard, but good intentions are not enough. In a sense, the Peace Corps is an employment service in the Matching people with the skills they want to volunteer with the requests of developing countries for people with those skills. Developing countries want college graduates. Usually want college graduates who are willing to work in small towns upriver, away from big cities. University graduates the host country tend to want to work in big cities, where a group of singles, nightlife, restaurants, etc.. They are not so different from Americans.> This could be an opportunity to learn valuable teaching techniques Maybe, but - would not be teaching high school, you would be teaching primary school, and as such, you would be taking a job away from a local high school graduate. Similarly, host countries do not want their kids are used to train teacher trainees.
