Please give your opinions on my poem for my teacher for the last day of school, quickly?!?!?
Haiku
Mrs. (her name is 2 syllables) is
the greatest grade five teacher
and we will miss her
and then sonnet: (not finished)
A teacher who is great
A teacher who is leaving
For her to have to go- we hate
we will be grieving
You taught us to write neat
You are there if it sunny or rainy
Showed us how to keep beat
You made us brainy.
What is a metaphor?
You are benevolent
You taught us without a bore
Never malevolent
(now I need a couplet. Help?)
your haiku is fine. Your sonnet falls a little short...but it's heartfelt. Here's a revised version...use if it you want:
We have a teacher who is more than great
A teacher loved but one who now must leave
How cruel and yet how kind to us was fate
To lift the hearts who now in turn must grieve
You taught us well to write our words so neat
And you were always there come shine or rain
You taught us meter and to keep a beat
You mostly taught us how to use our brain
What metaphor can capture such as you
Benevolent and patient with us all
You touched us all in ways you never knew
And always helped us up if we should fall
We'll miss you more than words alone convey
And think about you every single day
....hope this helps
