What should I do if I want to teach high school biology?
Do I need a teaching certificate in biology, if I want teaching at the secondary school level would be able to teach if he only receives a passing score on the Praxis exam without obtaining Biology certificate? You see, I majored in ecology and natural resources, and never had a genetics, microbiology, or molecular biology course in college. I think if you study hard enough for the Praxis exam can pass though it only took General Biology I and II and tons of ecology courses in college. Oh, and plan to teach in New Jersey, if that helps you answer my question.
You need a teaching certificate, and to achieve this requires taking the right courses (not just pass the praxis). Courses include a few very specific in the area that I will show, some in related areas, and some courses in education. You can check your state Department of Ed's website - usually a list of specific requirements.
