What are the new accents that youth of today are picking up??? They are awful!!?
Whilst watching 'LK today' this morning (not my regular choice of program, I promise!) I was shocked to hear the most appauling new age English accent. It was a feature on Mother and Daughter Modelling duo's, and the two finalists were absolutely stunning, the mother and daughter looked like twins. But whilst being intervied the daughters accent was abismal. I dont know how to describe it, and I am sure it would be described as English, but that is bad news, if this is the accent of the future then England is on a slippery slope. It sounded like English was her second (or maybe third) language, her pronunciation was herendous and she had to use the words 'you know' between every three other words. All of my foreign friends, of which I have many, speak much clearer and more coherently than this young girl, what are we teaching at schools in order to encourage children to speak with these horrid street accents???
i know what you mean its insane i think its picked up from tv and rap cause its all words such as like, and you know.
A sentence nowadays is "iinit cla like tha all tha suff is free you know" what is it all about (spell check went crazy on that)
But i supose langauge is always moving in old English times they probably said the same thing about the way were talking now. English and american will soon develop into different languages lol
Im irish but i like to think i have a pretty good way of speech as i do a bit of radio work.
But anyway i am with you on this one its dreadful could to hear someone else say
