What are the requirements to teach English in Taiwan? Do I need any special certification?
The requirement basic is to have a BA degree in any subject from any accredited university in any English speaking country. Beyond that most schools will ask who's good with children (by that I mean they are not harsh with them, etc.) that do not have a very strong accent, it helps you have a TEFL / TESOL certificate, but is not required by law (although some schools prefer).
