teaching debate elementary students
the debate on changing my major ... any advice?

I am currently a graphic design major and my 2nd year in college. I work at an elementary school every day as a tutor / after school coordinator. lately I've been getting the feeling that I entering the field of education. I've been working with elementary school children for years and have held many leadership positions. art has always been one of my passions, but I'm not as competitive as other people enter the program and am a bit intimidated by his work. I know the pay is not as big as a teacher, but I am so inspired as before to be with my artwork, but working with my students inspires me every day to work. Any advice?

Of course, as a teacher not have income figure 6, but the pay is not so bad. Take a look at this: The AFT (American Federation of Teachers) study of faculty salaries for the 2004-05 school year found that the average teacher salary was $ 47,602, up 2.2 percent over the previous year. This falls below the inflation rate this year, was 3.4 percent. Other highlights of the 2005 salary survey: * Connecticut, had the highest average teacher salary at $ 57,760, while Dakota South registered the lowest, at $ 34,039. * The average starting teacher salary during the 2004-05 school year was $ 31,753, up 3.1 percent from a year prev. * In 37 states, teacher salaries did not keep pace with the increase of 3.4 percent in the Consumer Price Index. I'm going back to school to enter in the field of education. I was inspired by substitute teaching assignments. I look at these numbers and say that salary is not too bad. It becomes difficult when local taxes drastically change or you have a large amount of debt mostly unnecessary. I'd say keep your credit assets, but clean. Do not buy anything (apart from an economy car or a house) you can not pay in a month or so. Do not let money be the deciding factor. It is for some people. They seem to have much experience, so use it to your advantage. In some states, you can start teaching your sub after junior year / during his senior year of college. You only need credit for many hours of experience.
