teaching 4th graders to write
Breaking the routine at school!?

I'm about to start a teaching job in the long run (my first) and it is 4th, 5th and 7th grades. I was thinking of doing a brain teaser in the morning to get their minds working days before the start of the day and give them a little prize if they have to write. However I know that your teacher does not make a regular basic, but I want to make this my classroom until he returns. Is this a good idea for me and if well, what are some good brain teasers or sites I can go to have some that are age appropriate. Thanks

There is a book that is probably online is now called "Minute Mysteries". Children have to solve a mystery within a minute after reading a paragraph. I think that their children might enter it. But you have every reason to make the kind of your account. Do not worry about what the other teacher did. Just say: Well, let's try this for a while and see what happens, "and do what I think is right.
