"I can teach in the U.S. if I become a qualified teacher through the GTP in England?
I realized that in the Graduate Program Professor website states that may not be an established mode of teaching abroad. I have the hope of moving to the U.S. after some years and that is where my other half wants to live. I'll be doing my teacher training in 2010 and an action of GTP to me than making a PGCE. By the way, is secondary English and Drama I'm going to run.
Not sure of the abbreviations used here (PGCE?), But I teach in the United States and I tell you that you have be licensed in the state who choose to teach. For example, if you want to be a teacher in California, you need to go through the necessary steps to obtain a license to teach there. What is required of teachers in America can not be the same as in England (especially in the field of standardized test) - so it can that is not recognized abroad. I will say that many universities offer here, "alternative" pathways to certification / degree that can be follow. Again - consult with someone in your department of Education.
