qatar teaching jobs

John finished college and looked for something to do. What he saw was the standard 9 to 5 jobs: gray morning, long journey, office politics, four weeks of vacation a year. No appeal.

Decided to postpone the inevitable and take a sabbatical. Lacking money to travel all a year without work, who did a short teaching course and got a job in Thailand.

He loved the culture, people, food - and work. Money was small, but life was cheap and had the rest of his life to make money. The year flew by and decided to make teaching more than another year. And then for another year. And then another.

It is a common scenario. EFL Teachers come for a year - and some of us end up staying there. Some of us also collect the wives and children on the road - and suddenly money becomes more important.

However, it is not easy to make money in EFL - is actually more difficult than it used to be. I have a friend who returned from Japan in the nineties and bought a house in cash and a large proportion of stocks and shares - this no longer occurs. Even Saudi Arabia does not pay the same wage as before.

However, the Middle East is a place where you can still make good money. Although at first sight a good set may look similar to what he would make an average salary in the UK, by the time he has thrown a tax-free salary, free housing, low travel costs (fuel costs nothing), a bond and no bills to pay which can be easily earn the equivalent of fifty thousand a year.

Of course, Not quite as easy to get a job in the Middle East and elsewhere. First, you really need several years of experience. While some places require only three years of experience, the more you have the better your chances.

Also worth noting is that when Middle East needs both language awareness and confidence that comes with experience. The students here are not as lenient as in some other countries. (See our Article: Teaching English in the Middle East: A Survival Guide for more information.)

If you are really serious about working here must also obtain an additional qualification. Diplomas, PGCE and MS are all worth the worth having, although the Arab businessman could give more weight to the last two, as they will have the magic word of the University in the certificate.

Do Make sure you do your research. A friend of forty thousand pounds rejected a year a job in Saudi Arabia after learning how bad it was at work in Dave ESL Cafe. Also make sure you are able to deal in the country you have chosen. Many people intensely likes of Saudi Arabia. Other countries Gulf of Mexico can be more enjoyable - as our article = "http://www.qatarvisitor.com/index.php?cID=414&pID=1001 href"> Life in Qatar shows.

And as for John? It's in the Middle East, yet extend his gap year - possibly for a lifetime!
