Teaching in Oregon?
I am a California teacher thinking of moving to Portland. Can anyone tell me if Oregon treats teachers well. salary, benefits, resources etc.
I taught in California for 16 years and moved to Oregon two years ago. I expected to take a bit of a hit in salary and was thrilled that did NOT happen. In addition to that, the standard of living is substantially less expensive here. The benefits are also better than what I had in California. I am in the Portland metro area, about 40 minutes west of Portland. It was a great move for me. Just don't tell them you're from California!
