how to get crayon off tv screen?
i have yellow crayon all over my flat screen. (it is soft screen, not sure the word for it) tried water and soft cloth and windex. Wax still showing threw even though crayon "yellow" is gone
OMG... yes, be careful w/all the suggested chemicals on a flat screen!
No matter what you choose to go with, I'd definitely do a spot check first, and don't just assume since there appears to be no damage instantly, that it can't damage it in time.
But as for all the suggestions... if the yellow is gone, sounds like what you're seeing is the crayon wax. Even though you "SHOULD NOT" normally use even a mild soap or chemical, you might need to in this case. There's plenty of cleaning solutions out there, you "shouldn't" use, but it does not mean it will cause damage if you use it once & make sure to clean it off w/clean water ASAP.
I mean, the TV doesn't do you much good w/lines all across it anyways. Does it?
No matter what, do your best not to press down on the screen too hard even though you might have to in your case. Sometimes from this you will see damage instantly. Sometimes this will slowly fade away. Sometimes it will slowly appear.
Check your warranty and call your TV dealer where you bought it from & ask them first. Make sure to tell them what is on the screen.
Lesson learned: Make sure the kids stay away from the flat screen w/crayons next time. =)
