Paid Survey For Money

You can spend oodles of money on materials including curriculum, books, organization, and filing paperwork. Because of this many parents go online to to try and find free curriculum. There are many websites out there that give a little bit of information here and there.

There are even some sites that give a schedule of what to teach, and some worksheets for your child to work on. However to gain enough information to hold an entire curriculum and teach your child fluidly could take a very long time. The question is if it is worth it to go through all this work just to save a few dollars.

The biggest thing you should look at is how valuable your time is to you. If you feel that it is not very valuable then go ahead and start searching websites. If it is, and you would like to have some sort of life outside of homeschooling, then I would suggest buying an upper end software package.

The reason why is that usually if you fork out the initial $300 for the newest software you will end up saving a lot of money in the long run for not having to buy add-ons or attachments. Most top of the line software have both curriculum as well as organization aspects. This is great because you have not only the materials to teach but you also have a way of monitoring and keeping track of your child. They will do scheduling, grading, and most of the record keeping so you don't have too.

Purchased software packages also come with a learning manual and a teacher's guide which is great for first time homeschool parents. It gives you a guide to go buy and materials to teach so that nothing gets left out. Most of them come with all the books and workbooks for each section of the curriculum as well. Believe me this is so much easier than getting them all separately.

However if you insist on not purchasing anything else a good route to go would be to look for some teachers in the school system that have extra materials or last year's curriculum. This can help you save money on materials since teachers usually just throw them away, however it is still very time consuming.

So if you are asking, "Is free homeschool software as good as paid?", hopefully you have been enlightened and can make a rational decision from here on out.
