I need ideas and activities to teach money ...? 2nd grade?
I'm trying to get some ideas for teaching money to students of 2 ยบ with LD and ADHD. I'm starting the unit by teaching how to identify coins and their values. And I want to be able to make combinations and joint Counting of coins to $ 1.00 for now. I have money to play (and handlers) to use. I have lots of worksheets and I found an idea for a money game. These concepts of money will also be coordinated with activities of daily calendar. Anything else I can do to help improve students' understanding in this area? Every good read-aloud books about money and coins that can be integrated with literacy, perhaps? Or other ideas?
I think it would be fun cash register to get a little game store and play, teaching them how to spend the money after they learn the values of each one and also allow someone is the salesperson that the payment of the things they buy, and gives back the correct change, etc. Of course, to do this you have to do the preliminaries and is planned to teach them to count to $ 1.00 first and then have a little play in the store costs $ 1.00 just to simplify for them. I know that when I was little, my mother was always involved in making rummage sales to raise funds and have learned so much about such things to be there and help. She helped me as I left take your money and then patiently worked with me until I learned to count back change her properly. I had a lot of fun doing this and it was quite the educational experience in many ways. Can have a little fun and learning that might make hungry for more and of course everything would be Because you and your wonderful way to make it fun to learn. It's much less intimidating in a way that when you feel that your real weakness in any area determined. Playing so I could take some of the stress of having trouble understanding those who are challenged as you teach. But you probably already know that! I that standing for election to teach special education! I am the proud mother of a daughter challenge and I do speak with some knowledge in the area since coming home with all questions to his mother for a better explanation when he knew nothing at school as she wanted. A teacher who deals with children how that you know is it should provide the best price and in great demand all over the place. You are worth their weight in gold, my dear.
