am i job hopping?
if youre a recruiter and the applicant has been in her current job for 6 months, would it be a bad resume? im only 18 and had a babysitting job for a year, and been in my current job for almost 3 months but plan to venture to the medical field after 6 months there (hopefully). i like my current job so much, but i feel like im not given the opportunity to grow, since im still in college. thus, im doing the same thing over and over..the new employee with a degree gets to learn new things, which could have been taught to me....i plan to attend a 2 month certification program to be a med assistant....so, what do you think of my situation??? am i a job hopper or what?
I don't think you are a job hopper, it's normal for young people to not stay at jobs for very long. Partly this is because they don't know what they want to do for a living yet, they are just trying certain jobs to see what they like. Employers understand this. A much bigger problem would be if you had no work history at all, employers nowadays are not very forgiving of this. Job hopping would be if you took jobs but kept quitting after 2 weeks. Or having 4 different jobs in a 1 month time period. But your situation is fine, I wouldn't worry about it, just keeping working hard at your current job so you can advance to something in your field later on.
