How early in the teaching of students can start sending resumes?
I'm student teaching 3rd line week of January. I want to send as many requests as I do and hopefully I can get a full time job for the fall for the next school year. I'm geographical mobility, so it's not really a problem. How far in teaching students is appropriate to begin sending requests? How long must I wait to obtain a letter of recommendation from my professor co-op? Until the end?
Never too early to start applying for a job of teachers. Look in different districts school and see if they have an annual job fair, usually in March. If you do not have all the letters of recommendation from then, you can still go to an initial interview. Recruiters understand that is still in school. My roommate was hired without all of their letters of rec, because she had not completed their teaching students. I start sending requests, etc. February at the latest. Please note that teachers often have to hand in their intention to return the forms April, so that shortly after the resume, start sending the individual schools. Thus, he begins to reach places and is fresh in the mind of directors, when they start thinking about hiring.
