Can a virus get into my BIOS settings?
Ok, I am a self-taught high-tech information, and I found something I've never seen .. Always a good learning experience .. Anyway, while trying to run a system recovery on a Gateway laptop, the recovery discs completely installed, then during the final set up, windows, laptop crashes every time. I have replaced the hard drive .. and have tried a different set of CDs recovery .. .. I theme, even installed a fresh copy of Windows XP .. running, but would not allow me to install drivers for the components of the motherboard .. Several times during recovery efforts, the overheated and shut noebook .. Ideas?
virus cannot get control of the BIOS. However that You can reach the ignition system.
