Does anyone know the pay scale of a Teaching Assistant, teaching a child one to one, living in Kent? ?
i'm thinking about going into this but have no idea of the pay, i've been on the council website but there isnt anything listed. Thanks.
Wiltshire county Council do have a standardised pay scale, which applies to teaching & TA staff. you can go onto their website & search for the pay scales which are dated as of 2007 onwards. as a guide, a friend who works full time is in the band c/d area, but there are some sub bands within each band. these can be negotiated & can depend on experience, etc.
also, as guru says, many TA positions have pro rata pay, so the scale is only a guide for full time pay.
mix your research sources, look at job ads, phone schools, etc.
many TA's find it a fantastically rewarding job, although they do have to work with us awkward teachers!!
and a good TA is an absolute golden godsend - I have one far less than i want - she is patience personified!
