I want to get into this prestigious college preparatory high school, but I couldn't find the scoring guide they have for admission. I know it has a total of 1,000 points.

It is true that Walter Payton is a very prestigious school. It is number 2 in the state. On average Walter Payton college prep accepts 230 students. The average score accepted at payton college prep is a 956. Of course depending on your race and gender the score you need too score may be higher or lower. If you are a 7th grader going to 8th grade in the year 09-10 you can apply for payton and take the entrance exam. but be warned every year there are about 12,000 people who apply to these selective enrollment there are only about 2,500 spots at these selective enrollment schools.
To get into the top ones you'll need about a 90 percent or above on your nationally ranked exam. You should also have almost straight A's, 3 or less absences, and a 90 percent or more on your entrance exam. Remember you will be competing for spots with kids who scored a 960 or above. Before applying you should really check the selective enrollment website to see if you could realistically get into walter payton. This is not to discourage you but many excellent students are rejected when applying for these schools. I know the process because I am going to northside college prep this coming fall.
