Where are the best places in Boston to become a volunteer ESL teacher?
I live in Boston, my TEFL certification and a hope days to teach English abroad ... For now, I'm in Boston. Any suggestion in Boston, where I could volunteer or ESL / ESOL tutor? I'm most looking forward to working with immigrants.
I'm in Boston, but I am an ESL teacher. You may check out this program: http://www.lvm.org/whoAreWe.aspx. You can be a volunteer tutor ESL with them. You can also ask their local schools. I love that volunteers come and work with my ESL students, but not we have none. You probably have to take fingerprints and have a background check before volunteering at a school, but could be an experience very good for you.
