The Princeton Review: Cracking the GMAT

How to crack the GMAt?

The GMAT is mostly a test of endurance, rather than an academic challenge, so you´ll have (1st) get good material, and (2nd) practice like crazy, paying due attention to the methods and the time dedicated for solving each type of question.

There are a few forums where ppl sign up and participate either making questions or answering them, that´s also very good for preparing and comparing oneself against others from around the world. The best -in my view- are gmatclub.com, urch.com/forums (Test Magic), scoretop.com, beatthegmat.com.

Again, the main ideas behind top-notch preparation are: lots of practice, sharpen up your methods and timing as you move on, and learn from your mistakes so you don´t repeat them, thus raising your probability of obtaining a high score.

Good luck.

Cracking GMAT - time to look beyond bookish concepts

So are you planning to "crack GMAT"?

One of the first steps that any GMAT aspirant takes is to research and buy a few books. But if you are looking to score 700+ you MUST be wiling to learn the concepts provided in the books. Why? Because although most books are great at showing the basics, only a few can really take your GMAT Prep level to the next step -> Understanding how the most basic GMAT concepts can be turned into the most difficult and trickiest questions.

If you are done with the basics, understanding advanced problem is the only thing that can take your prep to the next level [above 700]. You must understand how to identify these tricks / concepts and how to apply them to solve questions which contai

Very few resources can teach you these advanced GMAT concepts. Here are a couple examples:

- Can rhombus ever be a rectangle?
- Can "compared to" and "compared with" be ever used interchangeably?

These simple concepts already look confusing, dont they? Imagine how difficult would the questions based on these concepts be !!. Sometimes 2 or more such concepts can be combined to form even more difficult questions. So what do you do now?

There are only a few resource which can provide you with these concepts in an affordable way. ScoreChase's GMAT Crash Course is one such course. For just around 100$ or so you get 7-8 hrs worth of problem solving sessions where most important concepts and tricks are discussed. The focus is on problem solving, the batch size is small, the course is online [so you dont have to travel accross the town to sit in a class] and you get quick email support for your queries during the course. A great value!!
