What kind of teaching supplies you have in your class?
I recently received my own classroom at my job to teach groups of daily living skills and have a lot of room for supplies. I do not know what to do with all the space! I have basic art supplies but other than that I have no idea what to buy! I'm teaching adults with serious mental illnesses or disabilities. Any ideas?!
Think about what you need to teach - Cardboard, manipulative to teach math. If you are teaching them to cook simple things, be sure you have everything you need. I also have lots of tissue paper and paper towels. Paper plates and plastic cutlery. Paper (both hit a liner). Clorox wipes to clean surfaces quickly and do not forget hand sanitizer. You can also go to a shop teacher (or draw one on the internet if you have one in your city) and just browse. You are amazed at the things you think when you see them.
