"Killing with kindness" vs CST - more specific?
What would the Catholic church (and Catholic social doctrine) has to say about the replacement of lethal injection with nitrogen asphyxiation? According to the Catechism: "... The Church has recognized in cases of extreme ... gravity, the death penalty. "But," If bloodless means are sufficient to defend human lives ... public authority should be limited to such means, because ... more conformity to the dignity of the human person. "(# 2266, 2267) ... so what do you think? Branched" 'kill with kindness "front CST "I quoted the Catechism, as it is less known that the Catholic Church did not always oppose the death penalty. Be open to the possibility, but Sten and truthful with their answers please! This is for a school assignment. Thank you!
I think that asphyxiation is more painful way to die, so that the church would be against. We as Christians are taught at least in my education-to hate the sin but loves the sinner, however, when a crime is so horrific that the death penalty should enter at stake, then it should be more humane death possible.
