How much do English teaching jobs pay in Korea if you have a k-8 teaching credential?
I'm about to end my master's in education and teaching credentials from Washington state for K-8th grade. I teach English in another country. I hear Korea has a good salary and low cost of living. Do you also need a TEFL, TESL, TESOL certificate? What range of pay should I expect to be offered? Thank you.
I'll give a response. First, you need to know that many foreigners teaching English in Korea (by the way, I am living in Seoul, Korea) and other countries Asia, like China, Japan, etc. Today, in Korea, I see many Americans without work because they are saying there are too many English teachers. Moreover, I firmly believe can be argued that the certificates are useless in Korea. Please do not try to compete with Korean English teachers or other foreigners by showing off your license TESOL or other documents you may have. Even the Korean high school students now have all kinds of certificates including TESOL, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. If you really to succeed in teaching foreign countries, going to places where there are not many English teachers as in Vietnam. I would say that of all foreigners in Korea who came here to teach English, 50% of them have a teaching job and get paid very high ($ 4000.00 - $ 7000.00), 30% of them are teaching private tutor and 20% of them girls are going well in Korea and just enjoy their lives. In support of my answer, my uncle owns an Institute in Seoul. Good luck!
